Make Me Heal Looks to SLI Systems to Create a Seamless Search Experience Across Multiple Channels Cosmetic
Surgery and Anti-Aging Products e-Retailer Uses SLI to Power its E-commerce and Mobile Commerce Site Search, and to Create a Facebook Search App
SAN JOSE, CA – December 13, 2011 – SLI Systems, the number one provider of SaaS-based site search and navigation solutions, today announced that Make Me Heal has created a seamless search experience across its e-commerce website, mobile commerce site, and Facebook page, using the company’s full-service, cloud-based site search.
With the creation of Make Me Heal’s SLI-powered search application on Facebook in July 2011, the anti-aging products retailer has seen 30% more traffic to its website stemming from the popular social network since the Facebook search application was deployed. This has led to an overall 56% increase in traffic to its website from Facebook, since earlier this year.
Make Me Heal offers more than 100,000 plastic surgery, beauty enhancement, health, wellness, and anti-aging products to its more than two million members. The website also offers directories of surgical specialists, instructional videos, community forums, and Q&A discussions with surgeons. The site began using SLI’s Learning Search hosted site search for its e-commerce site in 2010, in order to improve how visitors are able to find relevant products and content. More recently, Make Me Heal also implemented SLI’s search on its mobile commerce site.
On its traditional e-commerce site, the company sees higher conversion rates and revenue-per-visit from search pages than the site’s average. And its mobile site, while still relatively new, is seeing a steadily growing number of visitors, a large percentage of which use the search box to research products before purchasing at a later time. Given these bottom line benefits, Make Me Heal decided to bring its site search capabilities to its customers on Facebook, and turned to SLI’s team of experts to create a customized solution for them.
“Our site offers comprehensive resources for people seeking products and information about cosmetic surgery, a wide variety of medical conditions, and anti-aging treatments and products, so there’s extensive information for visitors to search through,” said Ariel Perets, CEO of Make Me Heal. “SLI’s Learning Search makes it much easier for our customers to research products, treatments, and practitioners, and sort through all that’s available to find what’s most useful to them. The bonus is they can search from wherever they happen to be – at home or at work, while engaging in social networking, or out and about with a mobile device.”
By working closely with SLI, whose knowledgeable staff handle most aspects of search implementation and ongoing management, Make Me Heal offers a consistent search experience across its website, mobile site, and Facebook application, with matching look and feel of its search box, refinement options, and other features like auto-complete. The search box is placed prominently at the top of all search screens, making it easier for visitors to quickly begin searching from any entry point into the Make Me Heal online catalogue.
“Having Facebook search was a no-brainer for us,” said Perets. “For minimal time and expense invested, we’re able to drive more traffic to our site, and reach consumers wherever they are. And by working with SLI, the effort was a cinch since they already had all our search data. It literally required no work on our end, so the ROI was immediate.”
Learning Search is part of SLI Systems’ full-service, cloud-based customized site search, navigation, merchandising, and SEO offerings. The solutions help online retailers like Make Me Heal meet customer expectations for relevant results and information, and also promote particular products and brands, all based on previous visitors’ search and click-through activity. The effects are dynamic, so search results change as customer buying trends and search terms shift. Additionally, SLI’s offerings are backed by the company’s team of search and navigation experts, who oversee deployment of Learning Search and provide ongoing white glove management and support.
“When retail brands have multiple shopping channels, it’s critical to create a consistent search and shopping experience across them all,” said Shaun Ryan, CEO of SLI Systems. “Make Me Heal is a great example of how to create this seamless, high-impact experience online, on mobile devices or on social networks – and they’re seeing a nice pay-off.”
