SLI Systems Names Former Motorcycle Superstore CTO as Product Evangelist

With Retail Expertise and User Behavior Insights, E-commerce Veteran Jason Miller Plays a Key Role in SLI’s Continued Mission of Developing and Delivering Products and Features That Transform Online Shopping

SAN JOSE, CA – April 2, 2014 – SLI Systems (www.sli-systems.com) (SLI.NZ) today announced that former Motorcycle Superstore CTO Jason Miller has joined the company as product evangelist. In this role Miller will work closely with the product development and customer success management teams, as well as directly engaging with SLI clients, to determine what new products and features will best meet e-commerce industry needs. Miller will divide his time between the company’s North American headquarters in San Jose, CA and its operations in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Miller is an online retail veteran, having served as CTO for Motorcycle Superstore, of which he was a co-founder in 1998. Motorcycle Superstore grew to be one of the largest online motorcycle parts and accessories retailers, ranked in the top 200 by Internet Retailer magazine. In 2012 Motorsport After Market Group (MAG) purchased the company, at which time Miller became vice president of technology and assumed responsibility for all aspects of technology operations for two of the largest online motorcycle parts and apparel sites.

“The addition of Jason to our team is a win-win for our company and the industry at large,” said Shaun Ryan, CEO of SLI Systems. “He has deep understanding of the challenges retailers face in attracting and maintaining online shoppers and building solid brand loyalty. He also understands the value of search and the overall user experience and will be a strong asset as we continue to deliver solutions that help retailers increase sales and strengthen brand visibility.”

During his 16-year tenure at Motorcycle Superstore, Miller designed and led the development team that built a home-grown e-commerce platform and content management system utilizing .NET and SQL. Optimized site management and improved SEO functionality played a key role in growing both the Motorcycle Superstore and Motorcycle USA websites to be top destinations for motorcycle enthusiasts, enabled by cutting-edge features and custom search integration.
In recent years, after the acquisition of Motorcycle Superstore by MAG, Miller oversaw the design and launch of the first responsive design e-commerce platform in the motorcycle industry, which helped increased mobile conversions by over 50%. He also led the launch of the company’s international e-commerce platforms into three new countries, increasing the brand’s SEO footprint and international customer acquisition.

“Coming from the retail side, I have been a long-time fan of SLI Systems because of the superiority of its solutions and customer responsiveness, and I am absolutely thrilled to join this team of expert professionals,” said Miller. “I’m excited by the opportunity to solidify SLI’s industry leadership as the company enters new international markets and expands its best-of-breed offerings.”
